Storm Blows East

The Mac has a weekend glow.

"And I've been quickly ushered in
To a world that I confess I do not know
But I still dream of running careless through the snow
An' through the howlin' winds that blow,
Across the ancient distant flow,
It fill our bodies up like water till we know. "

Good Morning, Chicago

I took my camera along with me on a Sunday morning jog through Ukrainian Village and Wicker Park. My path: South on Damen to Grand. West on Grand to Western, then north on Western. I turned east on to North until the North/Damen/Milwaukee intersection, then turned back south onto Damen, walked through Wicker Park and then headed home south on Damen to Huron. Lots of barking dogs, sleepy-eyed Chicagoans walking out to get their coffee, but pleasantly few honking horns or talking people.

I love the record store. In your face, iTunes.

An awesome thrift store on Western Ave: Stop! Look!

Hello Seattle.

One of my favorite watering holes. They have a tastey West African Nut Stew and lovely anti-Bush propaganda all over the walls.

The Great Outdoors

I've gotten in the habit of throwing costume parties. I just can't seem to get enough of it. So for my thirtieth, I decided to do a "Great Outdoors" themed party. There were many scouts, hikers, and I rented a full bear costume which ended up being a big hit. Here are some of the photos I deem acceptable to share. I felt very loved as my sister came from Germany, Whitney from Seattle, Amanda from L.A. for this silly little event. Even Momma and Poppa came in costume!
