After scoring some sweet high-end, spankin' new snowshoes for a low-end rental price, Mason and I went to the NW 'burbs to try out this strange and unfamiliar snow sport. This was my first foray outdoors after a load of snow was dumped on us and a frighteningly cold, cold snap had lifted.
Felt silly and clumsy and rather pointless at first.
and after jiving about the stupidity of the sport,

We quenched our thirsts afterwards in the city at Simon's after getting denied by the long lines at Hopleaf. There I discovered DeKoninck Belgian Ale. That is one delicious beverage.
